Samsung X360 billed as "lighter than air" or MacBook Air

Samsung has demonstrated its forthcoming X360 laptop at the IFA exhibition in Berlin. 1.27 kilograms, it's lighter than the MacBook Air at 1.36 kilograms. (With light machines, such as the Toshiba Portege, but 12.1inch not 13.3inch screen.)

Samsung said: "X360 sets a new standard of mobile computing - offering a comprehensive set of features, unparalleled similar market."

Well, it features more than air, and serious damage to the port, including the 7-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, PCI Express card slot (34 millimeters), HDMI interface, graphics, the use of RJ45 (Ethernet ) and a docking slot. You can also not a solid-state hard drive (64GB or 128GB) or a traditional 120GB hard drive. Other features include a fingerprint reader, camera, Bluetooth and Wi - Fi.

The difference is that sometimes over-heated air, X360 also has a proper Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) processor - probably not cheap - and X4500 graphics. With the SSD and 6-cell battery, which makes Samsung battery life requirements, "as long as 10 hours", depending on use. But I will leave a deep impression, if I am more than 5 or 6 hours .....

From what I can see all kinds of video and photos of the IFA, the battery behind the project, like most 6 cell pack. This gives Samsung no hope of getting closer and closer, "the thinnest" machine. In the X360's thickness is 1.67 - 3.09 centimeters, including the MacBook Air compared 0.4-1.94 cm. It makes no difference rather than reality. (Oh, not from the point of view of portability. Thinner just worse - less use - if it means abandoning the ports, expansion slots and a removable battery.)

From photos and video, but it also looks forward to a very smooth, it may not be reduced too much, and comfort, the ThinkPad Matt crowd.

X360 is expected to reach in Europe next month. Samsung did not specify the price. I think this is not possible to cost less than £ 1,200 of hard disk drives, but it can be in the same stadium of the air.
